First Robotics Experience
My journey with First Robotics began in third grade with the Junior First Lego League (Jr. FLL), where I first discovered my passion for robotics and creative problem-solving. Over the years, I transitioned into First Lego League (FLL) and eventually into the more advanced First Tech Challenge (FTC), competing in a total of 12 First Robotics competitions. Some of my proudest moments include winning 2nd place for Teamwork at the FLL Internationals in Lebanon, receiving the Mechanical Award at FLL Nationals in 2019, and being part of the 2nd Finalist Alliance at FTC Nationals in Goa in 2024, where we were also honored with the Connect Award.
Being the co-captain of my FTC team has taught me invaluable skills in leadership, teamwork, and communication, as well as honing my technical design and programming skills. Throughout this decade-long experience, I’ve interacted with over 5000 students and worked closely with more than 100 team members, spending over 3000 hours learning, building, and competing. Each competition challenged me to think critically, troubleshoot problems under pressure, and collaborate with diverse groups to create innovative solutions.
This journey has been about much more than just robots; it's been about learning how to lead, how to coordinate large teams, and how to communicate effectively to solve complex challenges. Robotics has not only sharpened my technical abilities but has also shaped my mindset, allowing me to approach problems creatively and work cohesively in high-pressure environments. The experience has fueled my passion for engineering and problem-solving, making it one of the most formative experiences in my academic and personal development.
